Gonçalo Claro is a portuguese photographer, currently based in Lisbon. He sudied Design in college and entered his way to the fashion world as a model, but eventually photography turned out to be his true passion. Self taught, he started to explore photography in 2006, influenced by the greats of imagery, like Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon, Peter Lindbergh and Irving Penn. With a strong sensibility to create compelling and strong images, Gonçalo has created a signature style both sophisticated and intimate and has become one of the most distinctive a forces in the portuguese fashion industry.
His work has been featured in many of the world’s leading publications, such and Vogue, Elle, GQ and Men’s Health. His advertising clients include many leading brands, like L’Oréal, Chanel, Dior, YSL and Zadig&Voltaire.
